The NEW Barbie Dreamhouse

I was thrilled at the opportunity to review the new Barbie Dreamhouse, for my daughter, of course.  Kaylin recently started getting into Barbies and this was the perfect addition for our new Barbie lover.

“After all her travels, Barbie realized that Malibu is where her heart is and has decided to stay there in a newly renovated Dreamhouse!”

The Barbie Dreamhouse is 3 1/2 feet tall and taller than my 4 year old! It has 6 glamorous rooms, two working elevators, sounds and just about every accessory you could possibly imagine for a real home.

Assembly was a challenge. It took about 3 hours for me and my Mom to put this together. I finally found a YouTube video that was exactly what I needed to get everything working properly.

The house is fairly sturdy. I wouldn’t recommend pushing on it but it stands very firm on the ground but could tip over if pushed. One of the greatest features is that you can expand the house and close the house to save room. Here’s a few images of what it looks like expanded and closed.

Barbie DreamhouseMy daughter couldn’t wait to play with it. She played with it while we were still constructing it.  She immediately grabbed her 3 Barbies and went to town setting them up in different areas of the house. The elevator is so much fun to use and Kaylin loves to pull the string and bring her from the kitchen to her “sitting room” where she relaxes with her puppy in front of the fireplace. Barbie must really be living the life because this house has everything. Elevator closets, shoes, 2 fireplaces, 2 Grandiose Entry doors, a canopy bed, even stainless steel appliances, and don’t forget the fantastic accessories: food, glasses, silverware, makeup, a laptop, and it  includes a dog and a dog bed. Definitely one of Kaylin’s favorite pieces.

There are so many different ways to play with this and it’s definitely big enough for more than one child to play with. My 2 year old son likes playing with it also, just beware of the really small parts.
